Product
What does Course AI Builder produce?
A course made of modules. Each module has learning objectives, several lesson pages with interactive elements, and a graded quiz as its last screen. You download each module as a SCORM 1.2 package, or all modules in one file, and load them into your own LMS. After any purchase you can also download the full course as one backup file. See Features for the details.
Can I build a course from my own documents?
Yes. Upload up to 5 PDF, DOCX or PPTX files. Their text is extracted, including speaker notes in PowerPoint files, and the course is built from it. Scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot be read, and about 40,000 characters of text are used in total, so upload the material that matters most. On the free trial, documents can total up to 2 MB and 20 pages.
Can I edit what is generated?
Yes, at two points. Before any lesson is written you can rename, reorder and delete modules and pages, and edit objectives and quiz questions in the outline. After the lessons are written you can edit any text in place, change questions, answer keys and the pass mark, or have a single page rewritten with AI, up to 20 times per course.
Which languages can courses be written in?
You choose the language of each course, and the lessons and quiz are written in it. Widely used languages give the most fluent text; every language needs a review by a fluent speaker. The player’s own buttons and messages are available in English and Romanian, and appear in English for courses in other languages.
How long can a course be?
Up to 10 modules per course after any purchase, and up to 3 on the free trial. Each module has several lesson pages, one sub-topic per page, and a quiz. For a longer subject, create several courses.
Do my learners use Course AI Builder?
No. Course AI Builder is a tool for the people who make courses. Learners take the course in your LMS, from the packages you export. There are no learner accounts and no hosted delivery.
Can lessons carry my organisation's logo and colour?
Yes, with the brand kit, which any purchase unlocks. Add your organisation name, a PNG or JPEG logo and a brand colour in your account. The name and logo appear at the top of every lesson, and the colour is used for buttons, links and highlights in courses you build or export afterwards.
Can several people work in one account?
Not yet. Each account has one user. Inviting team members to a shared account is not available. You can share a course for review with a preview link.
Is the product finished?
No. Course AI Builder is in early access: the full flow from outline to export works, and the product changes often. The home page lists what works today and the known limits. Tell us at support@courseaibuilder.com what gets in your way.
§ 027 questions
AI and data
Which AI models write the courses?
Large language models from OpenAI and Anthropic, used through their APIs. The subprocessors page lists them. They receive the topic, your instructions, the extracted document text and the course content a request needs, never your name or email address. Module illustrations are generated by OpenAI and never show people.
Is my content used to train AI models?
We do not train any model on your documents or courses. We send them to OpenAI and Anthropic under their API terms, which do not allow using API data to train models by default. The privacy policy explains what each provider receives and how long it may keep it.
Can I publish generated content without checking it?
No. AI-generated text can contain errors, outdated information, invented details and misattributed quotations, and quiz answer keys can be wrong. Read every page and every question before you export. You are responsible for the courses you publish; see the Terms of Service.
Who owns the courses I generate?
You do, as far as the law allows and subject to the terms of the AI model providers that generate the content. You keep the rights in the documents you upload and own the courses generated for you; we use them only to run the service for you. Some jurisdictions give limited or no copyright protection to purely machine-generated text; your edits and selections strengthen your claim. See the Terms of Service.
What happens to the documents I upload?
Their text is extracted and sent with your request to the AI provider. The files are deleted 30 days after upload; deleting the course or closing your account removes them earlier. Exported packages and course backup files are deleted 30 days after they were created, and you can export again at any time. Upload only documents you have the right to use, and personal data of other people only with a lawful basis.
How are generated courses marked as AI-generated?
Every package states in its metadata that it was generated with AI, with the keyword ai-generated and the digital source type trainedAlgorithmicMedia. A “Credits and notices” panel at the foot of each lesson tells learners the content was generated with AI and may contain errors. This supports the transparency duties for AI-generated content under the EU AI Act.
Does AI grade my learners?
No. The quiz is scored inside the package by fixed rules: each answer is compared with the answer key in your course. No AI runs in the package, and no learner data reaches us or any AI provider.

Exports and LMS compatibility
Which LMS can I use?
Any LMS that imports SCORM 1.2 packages, which most do. After any purchase you can also download the full course backup file (.mbz), for learning platforms that restore that backup format. We cannot test every LMS, so try one module in yours before you build a full course; the free trial is enough for that.
Do you support SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5?
No. Exports are SCORM 1.2 only. If your LMS needs SCORM 2004, xAPI, cmi5 or AICC, the packages will not track correctly in it.
What does the LMS record from a module?
The quiz score from 0 to 100, a passed or failed status against the pass mark (60% unless you change it), one interaction record per quiz question, the session time, and the last page visited so learners can resume. A module without a quiz reports completed when the last page is reached. Lesson exercises are practice and are not reported.
Do packages need an internet connection or your servers?
No. Fonts, icons and images are inside the zip, and the package makes no network requests when a learner opens it. Your LMS serves it like any other SCORM package, and nothing is sent back to us.
Can I change a course after exporting it?
Yes. Edit the course in your account and export again; exports are included and never use another course. Then replace the package in your LMS. Replacing a package can affect learners’ saved progress, depending on how your LMS handles package updates.
Are the lessons accessible?
The player and its interactive elements have keyboard support and screen reader labels, and respect a reduced-motion preference. Generated lessons are not checked against an accessibility standard, and we make no conformance claim for them. Check colour contrast, alternative text and reading order for your learners, and test the packages in your LMS.

Billing
How does pricing work?
You pay per course, in one-off packs: 1 course for $199 ($199 per course), 5 courses for $799 ($159.80 per course), 10 courses for $1,399 ($139.90 per course). Each pack is a single payment. There is no subscription, nothing renews and no further payment is taken. Prices are in US dollars; Paddle can show your local currency at checkout.
What counts as one course?
One course is one course you generate: its outline, lessons and a graded quiz for up to 10 modules, up to 20 page rewrites with AI, and unlimited editing, previews and exports. A course from your balance is used when you start generating it. Editing or exporting an existing course never uses another one.
What does the free trial include?
One course of up to 3 modules in one lesson theme, from outline to SCORM 1.2 export. Exports and previews carry the watermark “Made with Course AI Builder”, and the full course backup and brand kit are not included. No payment details are needed. The trial is available once per person.
What does a purchase unlock?
Any purchase, including a single course, unlocks permanently for your account: no watermark, all lesson themes, up to 10 modules per course, SCORM 1.2 export per module or for the whole course, the full course backup file, and the brand kit with your logo and colours.
Do purchased courses expire?
No. Courses you buy stay in your balance until you use them, with no time limit. They are removed only if you close your account. If we ever stop offering the service, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund courses you have not used.
How do refunds work?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you have not generated any course from a pack, you get a full refund when you ask within 14 days of purchase. If you have used part of a pack, the unused courses are refunded within the same 14 days at the pack’s price per course. Ask through the link in your Paddle receipt, at paddle.net, or at support@courseaibuilder.com. The refund policy has the details.
Why does Paddle appear on my receipt?
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries about orders and payments and handles returns. Paddle sells you the pack, takes the payment, handles tax and issues the receipt, so its name appears on your card statement and invoice.
How are VAT, sales tax and invoices handled?
Prices are in US dollars. At checkout, Paddle can show the price in your local currency and adds VAT or sales tax where it applies, before you pay. Businesses in the European Union can enter their VAT number at checkout; where the reverse charge applies, no VAT is added. Paddle issues the invoice or receipt as our reseller, and you can download it from the receipt email or at paddle.net.
Can I pay by bank transfer?
For larger orders, yes: payment by bank transfer against an invoice is available on request. Write to support@courseaibuilder.com with the number of courses you need. Card and other payment methods offered by Paddle are available at checkout for any pack.
Try the whole flow on one course
The free trial covers one course of up to 3 modules, from outline to SCORM export. No payment details are needed to sign up. After that, pay per course; there is no subscription.
